Kemp Valley Orchards
With a view to the future of The Kemp Valley Group, we wanted to start a positive project which could be of benefit to our valley.
The Apple Project is the first step for Kemp Valley Orchards. Our aim is to encourage the preservation and replanting of orchards within the Kemp Valley by providing the equipment to preserve the fruits grown by making juice and cider.
In September 2009 we were given a 49% grant by the Sustainable Development Fund at Shropshire AONB, enabling us to go ahead a buy our apple pressing equipment. We held four apple pressing days in the autumn processing over 600kg of apples in one day alone!
In June 2010 our first two nuclei of bees will be delivered, these will be housed in our existing orchards in Brockton.
Eventually we would like to create a community orchard within the valley, `Kemp Valley Cider` could become a reality!!
